Howie the Trader

Remember Michael Silver's article (i.e. hatchet job) about Howie Roseman?  No one will want to trade with him because he's arrogant and hard to deal with.  I guess it is a good thing no one will trade with us.

Howie has been wheeling and dealing.  And wisely.

We passed on pick 55.  That got us a 4th.  We then moved back to 71.  That got us a pair of 5th round picks.  Look what we've now got to work with:

3rd
4th
4th
4th
5th
5th
6th
7th
7th

That, my friends, is beautiful.  Well done Mr. Roseman.  Go get me Brandon Ghee or Jerome Murphy and I'm a real happy man.

Tommy my only concern is that THAT many late round guys definitely wont make the roster.

I will say Howie is doing a great job though. I'm very happy with this.

Hopefully we can turn a 4th into a 3rd next year. Or package to lower picks for a veteran (like how ellis hobbs was aquired)

@Ben

I think Tommy was saying, the eagles have enough picks to do whatever they want now. They can trade in and jump up to pretty much any spot they want.

Our pick coming up could be TE Tony Moeaki from Iowa.

Cb remain a clear hole. This sucks. Period. I don't care to have 5 projects in the later rounds because we NEED a starting CB from this draft and we didn't get one.
I'll be ok with this strategy if we didn't have clear holes.

Tommy-

who are some of your favorites right now?

Do you think Ben Tate got stolen out from under us?

Tommy your boy Brandon Ghee is still sitting there. Also Navarro Bowman. I'll take either of those guys.

Know absolutely nothing about Moeaki. Like to hear predictions though, now let's see what ya got.

If I weren't at work right now I'd have fallen asleep a long time ago.

Who the hell is this guy? Daniel teo-nesheim?!?! really another DE

This is becoming a wierd draft. The NFL.com overview on him does not sound promising at all.

This guy was the sleeper of the SackSEER thing we were talking about the other day...

I like this pick... still need to address CB tho and I wouldn't mind grabbing bowman or edds soon

nevermind on bowman

Such a joke...Tommy I appreciate your optimism but what is there to be excited about stockpiling these mid round picks. I don't care if you go back and tell me solid 4th or 5th rounders we got, we are flat out not in a position to be passing up on 2nd round talent. It's this cockiness that we are good enough to pull these stunts that bother me so much about this team. Enjoyed our first 2 picks, then we went ahead and absolutely butchered this last one with so much talent still left.

I don't like when the Birds get all cutesy with the trades like this. Just take a freaking CB already. Please!

Sirius NFL Radio was gushing over Teo-Nesheim on Wednesday.

There has to be a trade for a CB or something already done...

AR seems to live in a fantasy land where it's feasible to put 11 DEs on the field at once. Can we at least attempt to make Teo-Nesheim a conversion SAM or something?

I talked about Teo-Nesheim a good month or two ago, looked like a great low round prospect. Good pick.

What the hell are we doing at Corner though?? Macho?

11 DE's on the field at the same time! What a great idea! Just have the DE's use bump-n-jump coverage on the WR's so the QB can't throw it to them so quickly. We should be able to get to the QB quickly enough.

There were almost 50 players chosen between our two picks tonight in what was considered a very deep draft especially in the 2nd and 3rd round. Are they trying to tell us that not one of those 48 players picked could have helped this team?
