It is also on the EMB.
I probably covered a lot of the issues that were being talked about in the comments discussion. Here are a couple of other responses:
RE: Kolb not playing well?
I think he did play well. He threw 2 picks in the last 3 minutes of the game. Prior to that he had moved the ball pretty well and been safe with the ball. Kolb also had poor field position on most of the drives he started. We had 2 that began at the 40 or better. The Saints had 5 drives like that. The defense is the group that really let us down.
No one is putting Kevin in the Hall of Fame or anything like that. He had some issues and has to play better, but I don't think any reasonable person could blame yesterday's loss on him.
RE: Coaching
Early season football is full of mistakes. Did you notice the Giants red zone struggles? How about the Packers losing at home to the Bengals? There were blown coverages all over the place yesterday. I saw a lot of basic mistakes in the games I watched parts of.
That doesn't excuse the Eagles problems. We must get better. These mistakes are fixable and must be addressed. I just think that you have to understand all 32 teams are rough around the edges right now. The Titans are 0-2. The Steelers can't score. The Ravens are allowing 25 points a game. The Giants only had 12 yards rushing in the 1st half last night. And so on. If these problems are here in the next week or two then we do have a serious problem. The first couple of games are always a period of adjustment and learning for the players and the coaches.

Fortunately we get 2 back-to-back bye weeks to fix our issues.
Be careful now. Remember how we were a lock to beat the Bengals???
Hey, we didn't lose though.
Well done, sir.
After reading your review, I still have the same feeling I had on Sunday, which is... I have no idea. I felt weird about the game Sunday afternoon. I feel weird about the game today. We played really good. We played really, really bad.
I was very impressed by: Winston Justice. Brent Celek. The Wildcat. DeSean Jackson. Kevin Kolb. Akeem Jordan.
I was extremely disappointed by: Asante Samuel. Leonard Weaver. Rocca. Hobbs.
There was just so much good only to be overshadowed by a whole lot of bad. I'm especially disappointed in Samuel. He gets paid big bucks. He also spent the off-season telling us he was going to be a leader on D. The way to lead is to do what Sheldon Brown did (no, not by wearing a mask) - play hard. Asante really let the team down. If we only went by this game, it's clear he's not the leader he thinks he is.
I can't really single out Asante either though, its not like Brown actually defensed that pass that went for a first down late in the game. He had tight coverage and all that but he still missed it.
I had a bad feeling about the game as soon as I saw Brown wearing the Jason mask. I hate it when players do stuff like that, I always feel like it shows a lack of focus or overconfidence, or maybe both.
If we die the Chiefs I will eat my shoe.
If we tie the chiefs even, appearantly I had death on the brain with the Jason mask ;).
Yeah, but Sheldon made one mistake, not many. Asante let up big plays all game long. He repeatedly missed tackles, too.
I like Asante, but I expect a lot more out of him, especially since he raved all summer about his leadership skills. We need him to play better. Sheldon and Mikell give us consistent effort. They're the leaders. Asante should take note.
Assante shouldn't be tackling.
I think Asante excels at jumping routes and breaking on the ball yet can be feast or famine when the D is unable to pressure the QB. I never thought he was a great tackler but someone needs to tell him arms have more uses than celebratory gestures.
The KC game has some intrigue since Todd Haley and Clancy Pendergast obviously know how to develop a gameplan that gives the Eagles fits. Do you think that we will see much of the same stuff that we saw from the NFC Champ. game?
I always thought that Asante was a cover corner. He gets beat more than the great corners and he takes some chances that don't work out but makes up for it with interceptions. He is more of a finesse player than a great tackler. He is overall an extraordinary player. Nonetheless, Reid and company may have him over rated.
I like Asante but feel it is a good thing we have a guy like Sheldon Brown on the other side. Brown is an excellent cover corner and an excellent tackler and a hard nosed football player without the glitz. Of course he did have two interceptions in week one. Rock on Sheldon!
I understand Asante is a corner and isn't supposed to be knocking the snot out of guys but he looked pathetic put there. At first, he didn't even try to wrap up. Then after he realized he might have to, guys just shed him off. And just because he's a corner doesn't mean he shouldn't be helping in run support. Asante SHOULD tackle better. Those are regular NFL plays he SHOULD make.
And I don't even want to get in to his coverage skills. He spent the summer tellin us he can be a man-coverage guy and it was just the media's misperception that he couldn't stick a WR one-on-one... Well, he sucked. Just because he gets a few INT's against weak-armed QB's doesn't make up for the huge mistakes he makes in big games.
I feel like I'm ranting against a player that I actually like a lot, so I'll stop. But Asante needs to stop telling us he's a leader and be one.
I'm really not remembering all these big plays that Asante gave up. He had the one blown coverage on the first Colston touchdown though there seems to be some confusion over whether it was him or Mikell who actually blew the coverage, they were both caught staring at the play fake either way. I remember him giving up the Devery Henderson completion for a first down on one play as well.
He had a couple of poor tackle attempts this game but he also had a good stop later on as well.
He definitely didn't have a good game, but I would hardly characterize his time here as taking advantage of weak armed quarterbacks, unless you consider guys like Eli Manning, Jake Delhomme and Ben Roethlisberger as having "weak arms".
